WHAT IS STENCILETTO?
Stenciletto is a series of progressive cognitive exercises featuring simple geometric shapes. The goal is to enhance and refine visual and spatial perception skills. Suitable for all ages, it only requires players to recognize basic geometric shapes and understand the concept of a stencil.
Solving these puzzles demands a blend of critical thinking skills such as visual and spatial perception, logical reasoning, planning, and problem-solving—all at once. Deceptively straightforward yet intellectually demanding, players must tap geometric stencils in the correct sequence to match the displayed pattern. Sounds easy? Think again! It’s more challenging than it seems and will surely keep your mind engaged.
Developed over a decade by an experienced educator with input from children, teens, adults, and individuals with learning challenges and brain injuries, all groups found it engaging and motivating.
In this latest update, we've introduced Education Mode, making the game classroom-friendly. All content is accessible with a single purchase. Features include controls for accessing content, the internet, Game Center, and sharing. Education Mode supports Family Sharing, perfect for home educators.
HISTORY OF THE GAME
Initially called the Stencil Design IQ Test, it was crafted by Grace Arthur Ph.D., an early 20th-century psychologist who recognized non-verbal skills as a key component of intelligence. She discovered it effective for children aged seven and above, including her colleagues. Her mission involved assessing the IQ of Native American and deaf children who struggled with verbal IQ tests but excelled when tested using this activity.
WHAT'S IN THE GAME?
Two types of games are available. Classic Games are rooted in Grace Arthur’s original geometric stencils (squares, circles, triangles, crosses, etc.) familiar to most. Our new World Games serve as advanced exercises for those seeking an additional challenge.
Stenciletto offers over 600 graded puzzles, with 60 free puzzles available across all levels.
Each paid game includes 16 puzzles. Upon completing a Classic Game, players earn an animated Smiley inspired by historical and mythological figures representing diverse cultures. These are both culturally respectful and a fun way to track progress.
Modes of Play Include:
• Mortal Mode (Default): Purchase lives or wait for regeneration. Timed and scored with Mortal leaderboards.
• Immortal Mode: Free lives forever; simply top up as needed. Timed and scored with Immortal leaderboards.
• Mindful Mode: Untimed, unscored, allowing relaxation while solving puzzles.
• Education Mode: Opens both Immortal and Mindful Modes, letting players choose their preferred style (Mortal Mode can be disabled).
