For Fans of Mathematical Puzzles
The Towers of Hanoi, also known as the Tower of Brahma and Lucas' Tower, is a classic mathematical puzzle. It features three rods and a set of disks of varying sizes, stacked on one rod from largest to smallest, resembling a cone.
The goal? Move all disks from the starting rod to the target rod using the fewest possible moves, adhering to these rules:
- Only one disk can be moved at a time.
- Only the topmost disk can be moved.
- A larger disk cannot be placed on top of a smaller disk.
The game progresses through levels. Each level completes when all disks are moved to the target rod, adding a new, larger disk to the starting stack for the next, more challenging level.
After each level:
- The level number is displayed.
- The completion time is shown.
- A time record achievement is indicated.
- A three-star ranking is awarded based on: minimal moves, no errors, and a time record.
Victory requires completing all 7 levels.
A final results screen summarizes performance, including level times, records, move counts (correct and incorrect), star ratings, and achievement progress. Six achievements are available:
Achievements:
- First Three Stars: Achieve a three-star ranking for the first time.
- Three Impeccable Levels: Achieve three consecutive three-star rankings.
- Four Consecutive Time Records: Achieve four consecutive level time records.
- Unstoppable!: Achieve five level time records.
- Game Completed: Complete all seven levels.
- Best Game Time: Complete the game in the minimum time.
