"Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Developer Reaffirms Ongoing Development"

Saber Interactive has reaffirmed its commitment to its slate of announced projects, despite the ongoing silence surrounding some of its most anticipated titles, such as the much-talked-about remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). In a recent tweet, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, addressed fans' concerns, stating, "Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world. We are working on numerous games across many different genres. Everything that we have talked about is still in development. We will share information on upcoming games when we have something cool to share."

Willits' statement comes on the heels of the announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, signaling continued activity at the studio. The most notable project mentioned implicitly by Willits is the KOTOR remake, a title that has captivated fans since its announcement in 2021. Despite changing hands and undergoing several development shifts, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed in April 2024 that the project remains active following the company's split from Embracer Group. Karch emphasized, "It's clear and it's obvious that we're working on this. It's been in the press numerous times. What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we're dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations."

While fans eagerly await further updates on the KOTOR remake, which has yet to show anything beyond its initial announcement video, Saber Interactive is not putting all its eggs in one basket. The studio is also working on a diverse range of titles, including John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival, both slated for 2025, though specific release dates are still pending. Additionally, Saber is developing a new Turok game and an untitled project based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. With the recent addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 to their lineup, Saber Interactive continues to expand its portfolio.
