If you're reading this, you've likely told yourself this would be the month you resist buying more Pokémon cards. Same here. Yet we find ourselves staring at another tempting lineup of Elite Trainer Boxes and tins - the kind of bad decisions we always regret but inevitably repeat.

The Scarlet & Violet sets continue delivering both stunning visuals and competitive value - much to our wallets' dismay. Some of these boxes actually justify tearing them open.

This tin offers surprisingly good value. You get five booster packs from excellent mixed sets - Surging Sparks, Stellar Crown, Temporal Forces, and Obsidian Flames - plus one promotional card featuring Kyogre, Dialga, or Xerneas. It's essentially Pokémon's version of a loot box (yes, I bought two). With chase cards like Pikachu ex, Terapagos, and Raging Bolt across these sets, the odds of pulling something exciting are genuinely decent. Even as someone who usually avoids tins, I'd grab another.

0Contains 1 x Surging Sparks Booster$19.99 at Amazon
I bought this mainly for the sticker sheets and the chance at a Surging Sparks pack. It delivered - three packs (with potential hits like Pikachu ex or Latias ex) and a tin I now use to store... nothing. Not even mad. Sure, there's only a slim chance at pulling Milotic ex or Ceruledge ex, but for twenty bucks plus some questionable storage? Better return than half my grocery purchases.
