New details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows have emerged online following the alleged leak of an artbook, surprisingly found on a hentai website, among other locations.

Discovered on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, the "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook has rapidly spread across the internet. Containing hundreds of pages of concept art, quotes, and development information, it offers a significant glimpse into the next Assassin's Creed title. The leak's origin is unusual, adding intrigue to the already significant event. IGN has reached out to Ubisoft for comment.

While the original source has removed the gallery, archived versions are circulating on various file-sharing platforms.

The leaked art showcases concepts for historical figures, major cities, and weaponry, potentially revealing plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's release, the images appear authentic.

The leak comes shortly before Assassin's Creed Shadows' launch on March 20, 2025, following a delay from its original 2024 release window.

At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with Assassin's Creed Shadows game director, Charles Benoit. He confirmed the delay was primarily for polishing and didn't involve major system changes. Minor adjustments were made to progression and balancing, with the parkour system receiving particular attention due to the challenges presented by Feudal Japan's unique architecture.

Benoit explained, "The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
