Buttercats: New Platformer Features a Feline with Butter-Powered Abilities

Get ready for a purr-fectly delightful Android game! Cato: Buttered Cat is on its way, and it's just as quirky as its name suggests. The title cleverly combines "cat" and "toast," hinting at the game's unique premise.

Ever wondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a feline's back? The developers of Cato: Buttered Cat did, and the answer is pure, gravity-defying fun! Prepare for endless spinning and whimsical adventures.

Originally a 2022 BOOOM Gamejam entry by Team Woll, Cato: Buttered Cat's positive reception led to its full development. Currently available on Steam for PC, an Android release is imminent. While the Google Play Store listing isn't live yet, you can pre-register on the official TapTap page.

What awaits you in Cato: Buttered Cat?

This puzzle platformer lets you control both a cat and a slice of buttered toast. Work together to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and explore five enchanting worlds filled with quirky contraptions.

Over 200 levels, including side quests, await you, along with a charming story revealed piecemeal throughout your gameplay. Thirty unique outfits add to the customization fun.

The cat's agility and the toast's projectile capabilities create exciting gameplay mechanics. Launch the toast to help your feline friend reach otherwise inaccessible areas!

Hidden rooms and Easter eggs add to the replayability. Take a peek at the game's charm in the trailer below!

Here's to a speedy Android release! In the meantime, check out our coverage of Operation Lucent Arrowhead, the Arknights x Rainbow Six Siege crossover.
