'Call of Duty' Beta Dates Unveiled

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Testing: Get Ready for Action!

The official Call of Duty podcast has confirmed the highly anticipated Black Ops 6 beta test, launching next month! Learn how you can participate in this exciting preview.

Two-Phase Beta Access

Activision has announced a two-part beta rollout:

• Early Access (August 30th - September 4th): Available to those who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or have active subscriptions to select Game Pass plans.
• Open Beta (September 6th - 9th): Open to all players!

Mark your calendars! The full game releases October 25th, 2024, on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, and will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.

New Game Mechanics and Features

Treyarch's associate director of design, Matt Scronce, revealed some exciting details on the podcast:

• Multiplayer Maps: Black Ops 6 will launch with 16 multiplayer maps—12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps playable in 6v6 or 2v2 modes.
• Zombies Mode Returns: The popular Zombies mode is back with two brand-new maps.
• Omnimovement: A new movement mechanic is being introduced.
• Traditional Scorestreaks: The classic scorestreak system returns, resetting upon player death (a departure from Black Ops Cold War).
• Dedicated Melee Weapon Slot: Carry a melee weapon without sacrificing your secondary weapon!
