Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has set a new record as Capcom's fastest-selling game, with sales surpassing 8 million units within just 3 days of its launch. Capcom proudly announced this achievement on their official website, marking MH Wilds as the quickest title in the company's history to reach such a milestone.

Despite mixed reviews on Steam, MH Wilds has seen tremendous success, with over 1.3 million concurrent players according to SteamDB. Capcom credits this success to their dedicated promotional efforts, which included showcasing the game at various global video game events and conducting an open beta test. These initiatives helped to introduce MH Wilds to a wide audience, demonstrating the game's potential and garnering significant interest.

Latest Update Addressed Game-Breaking Bug

MH Wilds has taken significant steps to address several bugs that were hindering player progress. On March 4, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced via Twitter (X) that the hot fix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 is now available across all platforms.

This crucial update resolved multiple issues, including the inability to unlock the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features despite meeting the necessary criteria, the inaccessibility of the Monster Field Guide, and a critical game-breaking bug that blocked story progression in Chapter 5-2, "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are required to update the game to continue playing online.

However, not all bugs have been fixed in this patch. Issues such as network errors when players use an SOS flare after a quest starts, and Palico’s blunt weapon attacks not causing stun and exhaust damage remain unresolved. These multiplayer-related bugs are expected to be addressed in an upcoming patch.
