Deltarune Chapter 4 is nearing completion, but the release of Chapters 3 and 4 is still some time away, according to creator Toby Fox's latest newsletter.
Fox confirmed that while Chapter 4 is largely playable, requiring only final polishing, the multi-platform release and localization efforts are proving more time-consuming than anticipated. This is especially true because this will be the first major paid release since Undertale.
The development team is currently focused on several key tasks: testing new features, finalizing PC and console versions, Japanese localization, and rigorous bug testing. Chapter 3 is already complete. Interestingly, some preliminary work on Chapter 5 has already begun.
Fox offered a glimpse of upcoming content, including snippets of dialogue and a character description. He also confirmed that Chapters 3 and 4 combined will be longer than the first two chapters. While a specific release date remains unannounced, Fox is confident that future chapter releases will be more streamlined once Chapters 3 and 4 launch.
The wait for Chapters 3 and 4 continues, but the progress update offers a positive outlook on the future of Deltarune.
