CES 2025 delivered some major mobile gaming news, with one of the biggest announcements being the AI-powered "Co-Playable Character" (CPC) unveiled by Krafton for PUBG on January 8th. This isn't your average NPC; it's a Non-Playable Character infused with generative AI, and it's coming to both PUBG and inZOI.
inZOI's implementation, dubbed "Smart Zoi," promises emotionally deep and personalized characters, enhancing the game's realism. In PUBG, the "PUBG Ally" will dynamically adapt its strategies to complement your gameplay, creating a potentially exciting (or unsettling) experience.
Developed in partnership with NVIDIA ACE, CPCs will engage in real-time conversations and adapt to evolving scenarios. Kangwook Lee, Head of Krafton's Deep Learning Division, stated, *"Our collaboration with NVIDIA is a testament to the transformative potential of AI in gaming, and we plan to work closely together to push the boundaries of what is possible."*
