Kingambit Debuts in Pokémon Go: Crown Clash Event

As trainers prepare for the Sweet Discoveries event, Pokémon Go is setting the stage for its royal-inspired Crown Clash event at the perfect time. Between May 10th and 18th, players can evolve the powerful Kingambit, collect special crown items, hunt for shiny Pokémon, and earn bonus XP through evolutions.

Kingambit, known as the Big Blade Pokémon, will finally appear in Pokémon Go during Crown Clash. To obtain this formidable fighter, you'll need to evolve a Bisharp under special conditions: keep it as your buddy Pokémon while winning 15 Raid Battles against Dark- or Steel-type opponents. Your Bisharp doesn't need to participate in battles - simply bringing it along will count toward the evolution requirement.

Adding to the royal theme, special crown-wearing versions of Nidoqueen and Nidoking will make their debut, with chances to encounter their rare Shiny variants. These majestic Pokémon will appear in three-star raids, while one-star raids will feature Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.

Wild spawns will also receive temporary boosts, including increased appearances for Slowpoke (which may hold King's Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, Litleo, and the fan-favorite Pawniard for lucky trainers.

The event features double XP for evolving Pokémon - perfect for clearing out your evolution queue. Additional activities include special Field Research tasks and an event-specific Collection Challenge that rewards trainers with XP, Stardust, and extra Pawniard encounters. Those at Trainer Level 31+ will receive guaranteed Candy XL for completing the evolution challenge.
