Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. Once in a map with a Ritual, several Altars will appear. Each map features a shared random modifier affecting enemies and mechanics. These modifiers might introduce massive rat swarms, life-draining blood pools, or other challenges.

Locate an Altar, check its modifiers, and interact to trigger a large enemy wave. Remain within the designated circle; leaving it prematurely ends the event and forfeits rewards. Successfully completing all Rituals on a map marks it as complete.

Confronting the King in the Mists

The 'An Audience With The King' currency unlocks a fight with the King in the Mists, the Ritual Pinnacle Boss. This currency is a random reward obtained through Favors.

Use 'An Audience With The King' in your Realmgate to access the boss fight. The King in the Mists' mechanics are similar to his campaign counterpart (found in Act 1 Cruel difficulty, Freythorn zone).

Victory yields 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at event-exclusive Unique items, powerful Currencies, and Omen items.

Navigating the Ritual Passive Skill Tree

The Atlas Passive Skill Tree includes a Ritual section that enhances rewards by reducing Tribute costs, improving rewards, and increasing unique Currency drop rates. Access it via the Atlas Map's top-left button, located in the bottom right of the main tree.

Omens are powerful, consumable items enhancing other Currency effects. Examples include Omens of Annulment (targeted modifier removal) and Alchemy (targeted modifier addition). Omens are highly valuable, often traded for numerous other high-value currencies.

Rituals also yield regular high-tier Currencies (Exalted Orbs, Vaal Orbs, etc.) from slain enemies. The King in the Mists has a chance to drop event-exclusive Unique items.
