An exciting new VR survival adventure set in the Star Trek universe is currently in development. Titled Star Trek Infection, this marks the franchise's first narrative-driven survival game experience.
The debut trailer reveals the project by Polish studio Broken Mirror Games, with publishing support from Bloober Team (creators of The Medium and the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake).
Fans will spot numerous callbacks to the Deep Space Nine era - from Alpha Quadrant references to a ship resembling the Defiant and classic Starfleet uniforms. While no familiar characters appear in the trailer, there may still be room for surprise cameos.
The gameplay footage showcases standard VR mechanics enhanced with a terrifying twist: mutant tentacle threats. The trailer highlights a Vulcan protagonist who can perform classic abilities like the mind meld and nerve pinch, along with disturbing new infected powers.
Currently slated for 2025, Star Trek Infection will launch on Meta and Steam VR platforms. With its unique survival horror approach to the beloved sci-fi universe, this could be one of the most intriguing Star Trek gaming experiences yet.
