Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, lacking deep synergistic reactions. Version 2.0 introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions beyond passive buffs.
Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:
While some elemental effects existed previously (e.g., Glacio's freeze), Version 2.0 expands this to all six elements. Most inflict damage over time (DoT). Dodging removes effect stacks.
Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
---|---|
Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack, up to freezing at 10 stacks. Players can "Struggle" to hasten thawing. |
Spectro Frazzle | Stacks decrease periodically dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more damage. |
Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10, exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG. |
Aero Erosion | Deals Aero DMG periodically. Stacks don't deplete to deal damage; more stacks = more damage over time. |
Electro Flare | Reduces ATK: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%). |
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:
Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited.
Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:
Only Spectro Rover (post-Version 2.0 rework) can apply Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies Spectro Frazzle stacks and a Shimmer effect preventing stack decay, maximizing Spectro Frazzle uptime.
Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects:
Currently, only one Echo set benefits from Elemental Effects, primarily aiding Spectro Rover:
While the system is currently niche, future updates might expand Elemental Effect integration, creating more strategic depth.
