Images of ASUS' Xbox-branded handheld, codenamed Project Kennan, appear to have surfaced online.
First reported by 91mobiles and spotted by Eurogamer, the leaks include two color variants (black and white) of what seems to be the ASUS ROG Ally 2. The photos reportedly originated from Indonesian certification documents that referenced (now removed) FCC listings in the U.S.
Both models feature Xbox-style button layouts (Y, B, A, X) rather than PlayStation or Nintendo configurations. Notably, the black version displays a distinct Xbox button - though missing the signature 'X' logo - positioned beside the left thumbstick. Technical specifications remain scarce, leaving unclear whether performance differs between color variants.
Windows Central's Jez Corden indicates the devices are "currently undergoing open testing at Microsoft HQ," suggesting a potential unveiling around May 20.

The leaks follow ASUS ROG's teaser last month showing glimpses of both an Xbox controller and handheld. Xbox's official account responded with an intrigued reaction gif, hinting at an imminent announcement.
This development aligns with IGN's previous report about Microsoft's hardware roadmap, which reportedly includes a next-gen Xbox for 2027 and a potential Xbox-branded handheld releasing later in 2025.
While this particular device comes from ASUS rather than Microsoft, the company has confirmed plans for its own first-party handheld. Gaming chief Phil Spencer stated such a device remains years away from release.
This news coincides with reports that Microsoft's next-gen Xbox (currently in full production) will launch in 2027 - matching Xbox president Sarah Bond's promise of delivering "the biggest technological leap ever in a generation."
