Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in mystery and located north of Reaper's Coast, is an enigmatic region that significantly enriches the main storyline and offers additional side quests in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Accessing this island is challenging due to the surrounding Deathfog and the destroyed bridge that once connected it to the mainland. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to reach Bloodmoon Island and advance your adventure.
The journey to Bloodmoon Island begins at the remnants of a bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, near the locations of Jahan and Witch Alice. Upon reaching the bridge, you'll unlock the Driftwood Fields waypoint. To navigate the broken bridge, you'll need to use Spirit Vision, which will reveal the damaged sections and any traps.
Crossing the bridge can be achieved using several methods:
Gloves of Teleportation: These gloves, obtainable in the game's first act, allow teleportation without needing the skill. Teleport each companion across the bridge, albeit tediously.
Translocation Skills: Skills such as Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat can be used to traverse the broken sections. However, not all party members may possess these skills.
Teleporter Pyramids: With four Teleporter Pyramids in the game, you can use two to cross the bridge. Place one pyramid in a companion's inventory who can use translocation skills to reach the other side, then warp the rest of the party to their location.
Fast Travel: Once a companion with translocation skills reaches the other side and discovers the Bloodmoon Island waypoint, the rest of the party can fast travel there, bypassing the bridge entirely.
For parties including Fane, an undead character immune to Deathfog, there's an alternative route. Northwest of Cloisterwood, an undead ferryman offers passage across the Deathfog to Bloodmoon Island. However, this journey is fatal for all but Fane. If Fane takes the ferry alone, he can safely reach the island, unlock the waypoint, and allow the rest of the party to fast travel there.
If your party lacks Fane, you can still use the ferry with careful planning and Teleporter Pyramids:
If Fane isn't in your party, opting for the bridge route is generally faster and safer.
Be cautious around the Undead Ferryman; attacking him can trigger a Deathfog spell, leading to instant party wipe. If you choose to engage, quick save beforehand. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, an ordinary belt, and 3,750 XP.
