Marvel Rivals: Game-Breaking Bug Causes Low FPS

A Reddit user uncovered a game-breaking bug in Marvel Rivals that disproportionately affects players with less powerful PCs. Low FPS (frames per second) directly impacts several heroes, causing them to move slower and inflict less damage. Given Marvel Rivals’ demanding system requirements, this effectively transforms the game into a pay-to-win experience, where the "payment" is upgrading your PC hardware.

This is clearly a bug, not an intended game mechanic. However, a swift fix isn't likely. The root cause stems from the Delta Time parameter—a crucial element in game design that ensures consistent gameplay regardless of frame rate. Addressing this issue requires significant technical work, hence the anticipated delay in a resolution.

Currently, the following heroes are known to be affected: Doctor Strange, Wolverine, Venom, Magik, and Star-Lord. These characters exhibit reduced movement speed, lower jump heights, and decreased damage output. Other heroes may also be impacted; further investigation is needed. For now, improving your FPS, even at the cost of visual fidelity, is the best workaround.
