Age of History Africa offers accessible gameplay for newcomers while providing a deep strategic challenge for seasoned players. Featuring over 436 regions, 223 unique civilizations, and diverse game modes and campaigns, the game promises highly addictive gameplay, enhanced by stylish minimalist graphics and realistic elements.
Game Mechanics
Before each round, players submit their orders, limited by their available Movement Points. Civilizations execute actions in a randomized turn order at the start of each round.
Map and Key Features
Your capital is paramount. Losing your capital for three consecutive turns leads to your civilization's dissolution. Capturing an enemy capital grants you control of all their provinces. Capitals provide a +15% defensive and offensive bonus and start with all buildings constructed.
Neutral provinces are displayed transparently, while colored provinces indicate ownership by other civilizations. The map offers adjustable zoom; double-tap to reset to the standard view. A warning exclamation mark appears in the top-right corner of the minimap when the zoom is not at the standard level.
Economy and Population Management
Use the Economy and Population buttons to view individual province details. The diplomacy button allows you to check ownership and engage in diplomatic actions.
Treasury Management
Income tax, based on your civilization's total population and economy, contributes to your treasury. Military upkeep, higher for naval units than land units, deducts from your treasury.
Orders: Normal View
- Move: Transfer units between your controlled provinces or initiate attacks on other civilizations.
- Recruit: Hire units from a selected province, incurring monetary costs and reducing its population.
- Build: Construct buildings in selected provinces at a cost.
- Disband: Remove units from a province to reduce military upkeep.
- Vassal: Establish a vassal state with another civilization.
- Annex: Reclaim a vassal state under your direct control.
Orders: Diplomacy View
- War: Declare war on another civilization.
- Peace: Propose a peace agreement to end conflicts.
- Pact: Offer a non-aggression pact, preventing attacks for five rounds (cancellable with advance notice).
- Alliance: Propose a military alliance. Use the War order to inform allies of your targets.
- Kick: Terminate an existing alliance.
- Support: Provide financial aid to another civilization.
Building Types
- Fort: Provides a defensive bonus to a province.
- Watch Tower: Allows you to see enemy army numbers in adjacent provinces.
- Port: Enables units to move to sea. Naval units can return to any land province, regardless of port presence.
